I have 2 chicks, about 8 weeks, one is to be a Midnight Majesty Maran, and is barred with small spurs. The other, an olive egger also has spurs

The top one might be, but I'm quite sure the second one is a pullet. Spurs are not an indicator of gender in chicks. Actually, 2 of my adult hens have some pretty good sized spurs. Look at combs/wattles, leg size, and the appearance of pointy saddle and hackle feathers.

All my females have the small 4th toe, I don’t see any obvious spurs.
