I have 2 drakes. We will be getting extremely high winds (45mph or higher). Should I close their little door to their run for safety or leave it open? I dont know if they are too dumb not to go out but I will be putting food/water in their house.

They should be just fine. I live out on the open plains in Iowa and 45mph is just a regular spring day around here.

I also think they will be fine. We get some very gusty winds here and my ducks have never blown away. I would take the food/water back out to the usual spot or you are going to end up with a messy, wet coop.

Mine have all weathered storms just fine. I will move food out of rain but that's it. And I keep them locked up in their run if we have a raging river in the usually dry ditch, so they don't get carried away in flood waters. I actually got my first duck egg this summer in a monsoon of sorts with half the city underwater. Mine seem to LOVE the crazy weather.
