I Have a Bunch of Chickens...and...

I have a full heated basement and it almost always has some chickens in it. I have the nursery pen, the socially challenged pen and even a infirmary one..... May need an old folks one too.

My best brooders are horse troughs and wooden shipping crates... Have used an old playpen also.

I like the idea of building a pegboard pen like justtonni44 did.

And I agree on the dust! It is fine and travels everywhere.. My hubby reminds me whenever he changes the furnace filters..

Just a brief comment: I put chicks of different ages together all the time, all the way up to 3.5 weeks difference in age. Just watch for the older chicks bowling over the little bitties because they are smaller and less able to get out of the way fast.

Of course, I usually have less than 20 chicks at a time, even with different hatch dates.
