Hey Dave, Go easy with that back! My DH, David is also a back injury survivor, he injured his L-1 vertebrae during a fall in '98, he's doing well, but still has some days he must take things slower than he'd like to admit. David is 48, still just a youngster. & starting to get attached to my chickens, chicks,& roo.

This sounds like one of those situations where if you didn't take advantage of it you would always be sorry. Only you know if you are physically capable of taking on the added work. Really sounds like a great opportunity as long as you can physically handle it. Good luck.

Bulk chicken feed will help but get large lidded barrels for them. You might face moldy food issues - several in the South have. I'd get that vet friend to look at them before buying/moving them. ALso, of course, sanitizing the equipment etc is very important. We are using and enjoying oxine for the sanitizing.

It sounds good if you don't overextend your health.
Best wishes with your endeavors. Our poultry are still our economic losses on the farm, but they do provide fertilizer which is a plus, eggs and meat. I really don't know how small breeders actually make any money on poultry. It has to be a passion I think. Well blessings on your endeavor and again great news on current health status. Nancy

Thanks a lot Bargin ( Nancy ). It's good to see you back. The health is getting better. The Diabeties still is giving me some fits. The back is okay not as well as I would have liked but Doc says it is coming along. Wish the numbness and spasams would stop. The pain in the back is about 60% better and I will take that anyday considering the pain I was in last year. The Heart problems are better. Still taking my meds and the blood pressure is a little high but I have lost 8 more pounds for a total so far of 26 pounds lost.
I am thinking in a year I should be where a 57 year old man should be even though I am only 51 years old Ha Ha. Paula is doing well and our oldest son is getting married next Month June 26th. That is really getting to us but we will cope. The daughter just broke up with her boyfriend of 3 years and boy do I miss him. Oh yea she does too. She is the one that did the breaking up because he was crabbing to much on the river. I tried telling her that was his job.
Oh well things at the woolard place keep going. Hope you and yours are doing well. I saw his picture on your web site. Noe we need one of you. How is your health. Have you got baby goats and bunnies now. Take care and keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks everyone for the advice and I do need to look at sanitizing stuff. i will see if our local farm supply has it. They should. I really need to look for some barrells if he does not have any. I also need to see who sells bulk feed. Thanks, Dave
