Ok I have a BLRW who is the sweetest thing EVER and she runs to me and wants to be held all the time...just like a puppy. As she grew her beak got more crooked...now I look at her and her tail is way to one side. Can anyone tell me if she will be able to produce eggs without getting blocked up?? I don't want to lose her

She is just at laying age yet and there is one chicken laying in that coop of 5 and she is an older one so It could be her but not sure. Here is a picture of her: I will try to get a body pic of her soon. For now just have the beak...she is eating great and drinking and I have since clipped her beak down a bit which made it easier for her to eat.

A picture would really help, but I wouldn't think the placement of her tail would affect her laying ability. The oviducts are internal and if she's pooping normally, then there's nothing wrong with her external opening.

She is pooping great

And vent looks normal..thats a relief really. I was thinking that there may be something "crooked" about her insides too. I will get a picture tomorrow and post it.

I think as long as you have a deep enough bowl for her to get to the food, and you keep an extra eye on her she should be fine.

since her bottom beak is straight she will probably have an easier time eating than if the bottom one was she can scoop up the food but she may have a hard time if the top beak is in the way.you can trim the top beak ..and or give her a deeper bowl with mash or normal food.or if shes doing okay the way she is just keep doing what your doing:p

I wouldn't think that a wry beak and tail would have anything to do with her egg laying ability, and if she has made it this long and is healthy then there shouldn't be a worry about her ability to get food. However, this could and probably is a genetic trait you do not want to pass on. I would not hatch any eggs out of her.
