I have a farm not an animal dump!

I have had many animals dumped at our place... From roosters, dogs, puppies, and cats. I find homes for all except one cat I kept. She was sick so I took her to the vet and she just has never left. She does stay in the house though because the barn cat doesn't like her much.

some people have no business having animals because they have no clue how to take care of them or how much it takes. I totally understand that's why i have 5 dogs, ellie(boxer) belong to a friend of my hubby's she got her when she lost her job for her daughter and her daughter never wanted her then she got a new job and didn't have time for ellie who was 9 mths old at the time so my huby said if you get her fixed i'll take her and my sm asked me if i knew anyone who could give his sil chi a good home so i took him and he was intacted i got him fixed and found out more back story i am his 4th home they said he was a chewer never chewed anything and they said he wasn't house broken he was he was just marking his turf he's getting much better now that he's fixed and he's now the little prince and momma just showed up at work and got im my car she's prob 8 or 9 years old and someone just dumped her because she's getting old. i'm a sucker and would prob take more if i had the room just because i know they would have a good life with me i think that's why i have 30 chicks i just couldn't leave some of them in the overcrowded bins

Because people are stupid, don't think and do think their kids deserve anything and everything..no matter what. We do a lot of rescuing and people constantly make me sick

Just had that conversation with our neighbor a few weeks ago. Somebody dumped a rooster and hen at his place, she now has chicks. He tell's me "Oh your chickens look so comfortable and happy, you have a nice set up for them, how about I just bring you over a few more?" Umm, no! I sure don't need more roosters and I don't want strange birds from who knows where. Not to mention the hassle of introducing a new hen. Just not interested right now.

Then of course there's all the dogs and kittens. I just have to send them all to the shelter so why can't they?! Why does everybody think that because I have dogs and cats I should take all theirs too when they get tired of it?! Especially the jerks that dumped the tiny black kitten here last November. Freezing cold, rainy night. Sweet friendly thing, skin and bones, shivering in the cold, broke my heart to see her. She snuggled right into my jacket, purring up a storm, and now I have 6 cats instead of 5!

I hear ya

Since we moved out of the suburbs into the country 2 years ago we have begrudgingly agreed to accept 1 more dog, only because it was out daughters who was deployed for 12 months and 1 more cat only because it was rescued from a near coyote attack by my daughters best friend who was living in a dorm on her college campus. Both were responsible enough to get the animals all their shots and fixed before they even considered asking, they know our pet policy. So now that brings us up to 2 dogs and 2 cats and 14 baby chicks.

I make it very clear to friends, family and coworkers that I am at capacity !

Ugh, I know how you feel.People try to give me animals all the time. Someone even had the nerve to tell me that if I didn't take their 5 horses they would be sent to slaughter. I called the police and told them about it. They are no longer allowed to own horses. We have 6 dogs, 9 cats, 1 horse, 1 pot bellied pig, 2 ferrets, and 1 hamster that no one will take. That's not even counting the chickens. We have too many animals and no one seems to understand that we can't take any more. Except chickens, I can always use more chickens.
