I have a few Qs about rainbow dixie/pioneer/freedom ranger chickens.

Has anyone breed these guys after they turn a year old? If so, did you find the chicks to have the same fast growth rate as the parents? Is this a breed of chicken that breeds true or do the chicks become slow growing chickens that are nothing like the parents?

I've never personally had any Pioneers (Dixie Rainbows) but according to some of the hatcheries that sell them such as Murray McMurray, they are not recommended for breeding as they are hybrids that will not breed true.
