I bought a nanny goat today.. and she has a holr drilled in each horn... does anyone no what the purpose of doing that is?
I would hazard a guess that she has had a thin rope threaded through the holes to tie her up. We do it regularly with sheep, but its not a good idea with goats, since sheep horns are solid while goat horns arent. I've never seen it in goats ... can you post a pic please?
I've heard that people will put rope in them to tie them out. I've also heard of some people putting wood dowels through the holes to keep them from being able to put their heads through fencing.
I will have to get husband to bring his camera home so I can post a pic... she is the sweetest thing... I also bought 2 bottle babies... I have had goats before and have never seen this done... thank you for replies
