So I have a put of blue bar Olympic head pigeon and they are supposed to hatch their egg tomorrow and it started today so I took a pice out and it's alive but how long does it take and when should I consider helping the chick hatch like when should I help?

the chick will most likely die due to to the piece being removed. Never help a pigeon hatch, if it's parents are tending to it. The parents will help it. They know more than us.

If it's due to hatch tommorrow, why did you help? I know it's hard to wait, but it's the best thing to do. :) I hope it makes it!

By the way, I have had pigeons hatch as late as day 19, so be very careful ever helping them. I hope this helps.

It will probably hatch by itself by tomorrow morning. It is not likely to need help unless it is malpositioned in some way. Good luck and please update us tomorrow!:caf

I think the chick an still hatch OK. We don't know without a photo how big of a piece of shell was removed and I'm guessing when they say hatching started that there was a pip of the outer shell already. I agree with you that it was way to soon to assist but the chick could still be ok.:fl
