My first broody hen,a cuckoo marans, has hatched her 1st chick. It is a cute feather leg cuckoo marans chick. She has 10 more eggs. I guess I will forgive her for going broody and depriving me of her eggs. I have a second broody, another cuckoo marans hen, blast her, and I will set her with Delaware eggs today or tomorrow. These girls don't understand that I have their potential eggs sold, lol.

Congrats Gina, i didn't realize that Marans were prone to going broody. I have 5 broody Sizzles and Silkies right now and you are sure right it does not help egg production.
