I have one baby chick that's pretty serious about trying to jump out of their little house. She's only almost 2 1/2 weeks old. She's always trying to peak over the top then does a big run, jump, flap. She's gotta pretty close a few times. What's up with that?

Some chicks just are jumpy. Make sure you have a roof on your chick pen so she cant get out and maybe you could add some sticks, rocks, etc. in there for her to jump on. You can also put some roosts in there for her to perch on.

What can you cover it with?
Welcome to the forum, glad you joined.

What does your brooder look like so we can give specific suggestions. We like photos. Some typical generic answers are hardware cloth, chicken wire, or mesh netting. I don't know which might work best for you or how you set it up so you can still easily feed, water, and clean.

I've seen two week old chicks fly up to the roost. The broody hen said "Cone here" and they did. It's not just jumping at that age, many of them can already fly pretty well.
