I thought I was being a bit....obsessive. I'm so glad to know that I'm normal!

Oh, and BTW, you get to put "collected (you fill in the blank) times daily" on your label. No one will think
you're crazy, they just think you're providing them with extra, extra fresh eggs!

Yup, you got the fever, & on here you are totally normal! All those other people that just don't get it, don't know what they are missing!

Hi my name is Steph and I'm a chicken addict too. The newness hasn't worn off for my kids and I and we've been collecting eggs since the end of July. We collect 5 to 7 per day from 8 laying hens and have some younger pullets who are not yet there.

You are in good company here. I love to talk about the different shades of eggshells and just today my DH asked me HOW I know which chicken laid which egg...I started to explain and his eyes glazed over and he smiled. (That's when I KNOW he's not listening to me anymore) Mind you I still talked on and on..."cuz well I'm obsessed...Hellllloooooooo.

Glad to know that I'm not alone! Today was the first day that we cooked with our fresh eggs. I made my husband save the shells (he always cooks breakfast on Sundays) just so I could see the inside of the shell. He obliged but I got a couple of eye rolls along with it. I can't WAIT to have baby chicks hatch. We have plenty of room to expand the flock. I've been looking at buying some more eggs to go ahead and hatch but that is just because I'm so impatient. I am restraining myself though and keeping it to just looking and not buying.

I need to stalk my girls a little more in the mornings. I have a mysterious green egg layer and I don't know who is laying that one. So far only 4 out of 8 of my girls are laying. I know which eggs belong to three of them. That fourth one is a sneaky layer though.

Hi
I am also a chicken addict. It is catching. Now my whole family are addicts. We have set up a chicken viewing area by our chickens. Complete with a coffee table for our feet and a chair for each family member. We set out as many evenings as we can and sometimes during the day if it is not too hot. Chickens can be very entertaining.

Hi! My name is Debbie and I am a chicken addict!

While I only have 11 chickens, I dream day and night about all the other breeds of chickens I would like to have. Driving down the road, every dog house, play house, swing set, etc I see becomes a potential chicken coop in my mind. Craigs list is a favorite place for me to look and dream. CL has everything from chickens to coops to recycleable stuff (potential coops). MY OH MY! Yes, my name is Debbie and I am a chicken addict!
