I've been going through a 40 pound bag a week. Hubby keeps saying it's too much. But I wasn't sure. You should be going through 3-4# a day. More if it's cold or before POL, less if they free range.
okay, thanks. I feed twice a day. I don't know if any of you know what I'm talking about, but years ago my mom had bought a shaker to mix chocolate milk in....I just measure (with water), it's about 2 cups. So for the smaller chickens (there are 8)--I fill it almost full 3 times (so a total of 12 cups a day) and the big Cornish Crosses (there are 4), I fill it twice. So 8 cups a day. So I am feeding about 20 cups a day total...how much should I be feeding? Oh and I feed egg maker. You're a little on the high side. Are they bigger dp birds, do birds come over to the all day buffet...? Switch to pellets if you don't already.
No, we are just getting the eggs. We didn't know what they are when we got them as chicks....Cornish X notoriously eat and eat and eat some more. Are to going to process them soon?
we figured we would just let them live out their lives...and not get anymore.Typically they are very short lived and will just keel over. You should think about replacing them.
