I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Sorry just re read your post.."as they hatch" the talking egg has not pipped yet...so I will just keep watch for now and set up another brooder. Six inches of snow plus ice is wearing me down.
I am going to check with others but I'm thinking as cold as it is you'd be better off bringing them in as they hatch. they will take them back even as far out as 3 weeks old probably older. It would be better if you could leave them but at the temps your talking about I wouldn't risk it excited for you that your hearing peeps

I PM'd 3 members who hatch so hopefully we'll hear back, what I advised is what I'd do, But good to have back up and it's will be probably another 24 hrs before you see external pip, maybe longer water fowl take a long time to hatch.

Gosling has pipped internally that's why you can hear it talking so this is critical time mama will probably not come off the egg much and will be even more protective but if others agree it will only take a sec to get the goslings as they hatch and Millie will settle right back down on her eggs.

sounds like so far so good to me... I agree with Lidia... when they hatch bring them in until your temps even out. If you knew she was a good mom you wouldn't have to worry. But first time mom's don't always get it right. GOOD LUCK!

Just went out to check again.still no pipping. She got up to drink and stand in the rain. Its like she wanted me to look, she just watched me look in her nest and when I left she went back. Will continue to check tonight and tomorrow. Patience is a VIRTUE! :)

This am I went out to feed and found Millie off her nest and them all cold. Followed my gut and brought the whole set in to candle. Onlyone has a chick..little one wriggling yesterday. I see no movement. I stuck it in the incubator with the duck eggs. Lost cause?

Maybe not let it get good and warm then candle again, I'm so sorry wonder why she got off for so long. I hope the little one is okay.

Like Lydia said.. make sure it's warm and re candle... unfortunately we never know if the mom knows somethings wrong or if it's just inexperience.
