Bought sexed chicks in march. This ss appenzellee really has me vexed. I have a window to make a claim to vendor but dont want to look too stupid. So could I have some opinions on roo or pullet. 11 weeks old yesterday

Small wattles visible, light red, for last several weeks. They have not gotten larger. But he/she is growing far faster than the other appenzeller

I'd place money on it being a cockerel. Their crests are also a bit different than a pullet's would be and there appear to be pointed sex feathers developing in the saddle and hackle.

Hmm, 15%, eh? So out of my 18 EE "pullets," I should not be surprised if I have two or three cockerels? I don't mind too much, actually, it made me smile to hear one practicing his little baby crowing yesterday. They are almost exactly 3 months old.
