I have audio of my chickens. Help!

my bo squawks like that when she wants something like getting out of the run in the morning and food, and then if shes scared of something. my pullet squawked like that yesterday before she went into the coop to sit on the nest. maybe labor pains.
maybe you need to give her an epidural

If you didn't have the video included, I would have sworn in court that was "Miss Mouthy" in my backyard. She is like that all day. She seems to only shut up just before she lays. In the run, free ranging, eating, it never stops when I am outside. I think she *loves* me and wants my attention!

I currently have 30 hens that are 17 weeks old, only one is laying. I'd say half of them make that horrible LOUD guttural growling noise - and they make it most of the day too. They're all healthy and happy as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know what else to tell you except it's normal... I think.

Sounds just like my place - and completely normal - except add in a couple of roosters to the mix! I have 5 hens laying that make at least that much noise on a daily basis, mostly in the morning, before and after laying. Nothing quiet about chickens, I fear, male OR female. (And I've gone and added 7 more young pullets to the mix. At this point, they only scream when the roos annoy them. But they're in training. At 16 weeks, I already hear them practising their hen songs from time to time.)

If this is normal, then why do mine make THIS sound only when upset about something? Is this a sign that mine may be sick? They appear healthy. Are mine not fluent in chicken talk? How do I get loud hens (for the purposes of driving neighbors nuts)? I must have a much quieter strain of leghorns.........hmmmm

Edited to add: Mine talk alot, just very quietly to themselves
