I have been seeing weird bees by my duck coop!

We have paper wasps everywhere. You practically can’t get them to sting. Yellow jackets can be a serious problem. They sting and swarm.

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
The hornets are likely coming to drink. If they are chasing you around, the hive must be nearby. As has already been stated, be extremely careful using wasp & hornet spray anywhere near your birds.

I think there is a nest nearby. Those things are big on chasing people!! Their stings are not fun either.

If you have a large nest of them, it would be best to have a professional deal with them.

Is a red wasp the same thing as a paper wasp? We have red wasps here. And hover bees which are pretty cool. One hovered outside our back door for days last year!

Yikes I have never heard of a red wasp so I can’t answer your question but the hover wasp sound really amazing
