I have chicks!

Hi. My name is Jennifer and I am new here.

We just had our first chick hatch yesterday. This chick is a Japanese Bantam. We had the white leghorn and RIR cross hatch this morning. We have 6 more chicks to go. It would be so wonderful if they all hatched and made it.
Oh, this is our first time hatching or having any chickens for that matter. Our kids are thrilled.. or wait.. maybe it's me who is thrilled.
I have learned so much from this site btw. Thanks!

eta the Bantam hatched at day 19 too. My husband was worried he wouldn't make it.. Like I said we have no experience with hatching. I had faith and that little chick is the wildest little thing.

The last chick that hatched has just been laying there in the same spot pretty much since he came out. Is this normal for some of them? My other two came out and were getting themselves all around within minutes. This makes me nervous.
