We started with chickens during the quarantine summer of 2020 as a way to ensure at least one food source. I've been leery of birds my whole life, but thought if I started with babies I'd get used to them. It worked! Of course, we only got 6 chicks to begin with but chicken math we now have 30. Initially started with a small coop bought via internet but now have 4 coops/runs (hubby made them). Currently, we have barred rocks, Rhode island reds, large fowl bym, buff orpingtons and green eggers. I love the personalities of my chickens and often just go sit in the runs with them during my days off.
