*blinking*
Turkey eggs. I feel your... panic.
Sounds like you are about as able to resist the auctions as am I. The non-chicken poultry calling to ME are ducks. However, there are plenty of other chicken breeds that I want FIRST. LUCKILY, I keep Henderson's Handy Dandy Chicken Breed Chart book-marked so I can check to see if there are attributes I don't think I want to tackle. (A particular, gorgeous game breed is not a possibility because the roosters MUST be kept separate from other birds, as they are killers. Well, I haven't been able to divest myself of my extra roos, and I don't think that's gonna change. Darn! for a couple reasons.)
And I really don't want any kind of ducks but Cayugas, so I really could just incubate Thelma's eggs. That's a Spring project.
Somebody - *looking askance at Sky again* - outbid me on the Barnvelder eggs, so I had to find another offering.
BLUE GIANT COCHINS!
I almost bid on some frizzles, but the seller indicated some of the mixes included Silkies and Polish, both of which are non-chickens in my book. (Please, no flames.) I like the hefty CHICKEN-Y chickens. Bantams are cool because they're just midget chickens in proportion.
