A friend of ours wanted to take a pic with Lucky and Flynn for her Christmas card. We had a photo shoot. Poor Flynn was a bit nervous. Here is the card we received.

They sent me a calendar for writing a story in the story contest, and it came today!!! And, ha, I am so delighted to see that 'Miss January' is Lucky herself!!! I showed it to my little Sebright bantam, Moonshine, and told her the tale of this remarkable duck....she was very impressed....

I hope everyone is toasty warm inside this evening. To say it's cold here on Long Island is an understatement. It's currently 15 degrees with a wind chill of -1. My poor babies refuse to stay in their coop and are out in their run sitting 95% of the time to keep their feet from freezing. It looks like another sleepless night worrying although every time I check the cameras during my sleepless nights they seem to be sleeping just fine lol.

She is out in 19° and yesterday was windy as heck! She is doing fine, lots of straw to sit on and the ducks are thriving... just irritated that all our pools are frozen solid... they still sat in them all day wishing for swim water...


Lucky and Flynn will be fine...
