I have no idea what I am doing

Good Morning friends, just a quick update to let everyone know that our little baby is running around like a lunatic. He has not stopped eating and drinking. I went to bed around 11 last night and he couldnt keep his eyes open with all the excitement of his new home and the visitors that came. I woke up at 4:30 to check on him and it looked as though he had about a donzen college buddies over for keg party. Holly Cow!!! food everywhere and I mean everywhere. The water dish was no longer water but what appeared to be cake batter. Now he has two water dishes. He is home with his aunt who is babysitting while I am at work and he is all I can think about and I cant wait to get home. I promise I will spend the weekend enjoying every minute with him and taking pictures for everyone to enjoy.

So glad baby has a babysitter! That is awesome!!

You got great advice on the waterers and the bedding....

I was thinking of a little stuffed toy for him to snuggle with? A beanie baby or something just about twice as big as he is? Might be the thing (but away from food and water)!

This is because he is alone in his flock (at the moment) and it is often used for "singles"...

Yup, think he was already planning on getting a stuffed critter to snuggle...

Sorry I've been away for most of the night I've been on the phone and company coming to see the new baby. Baby is getting so fluffy now. I will post more pictures tomorrow I've just been so overwhelmed. I dipped the tip of his beak into the water and that was all it took. He is already eating and drinking and even made its first poop. Very active and vocal running around inspecting his new home. I am going to bed now and hopefully get a good nights sleep. Stay tuned tomorrow for some pictures. Night all

I was thinking of a little stuffed toy for him to snuggle with? A beanie baby or something just about twice as big as he is? Might be the thing (but away from food and water)!

This is because he is alone in his flock (at the moment) and it is often used for "singles"...

I have done the same. For a few days it was enough for her, but I have a feeling that my duck now calls for me again when I leave. She stops after a minute or two and snuggles behind the toy.

PS: Could not find any toy that would look more like duck. This was a gift I got when I bought two six-packs of beer! What an investment!

Glad to hear the new addition is doing well. After what he went thru he deserved to have that "party". You deserve one too! Any name picked out yet? Looking forward to more pics.

I wish I knew what the sex was before I pick a name, I have a few ideas that could be universal but Im just so excited right now I cant think straight lol

It's an indian runner duck.
It's already evident why they call them runners. I have brought it outside, I could run and she would catch me despite falling down like million times.

All's well that ends well. You were amazing throughout this ordeal, unbelievable dedication for one little duck, I wish there were a million more guys on this planet that

Steve, such a sweet baby. I know it's totally your option but I just thought I'd throw a name out to you that could work for either sex, how about 'Patience' considering that's what it took to hatch the little cutie. Just a thought and thanks for posting pictures.

Baby is actually on its first vacation to our summer place in eagle lake. I really wasn't going to go but when I got home my sister was babysitting and he was Trina to him out of his cage which is over two feet tall. We had to buy a wire top to keep him in. So I went a got an adapter for the car to plug in the heating pad and off we go to the lake for the weekend. Life is good I'm beyond thrilled and will have plenty of pics
