I have no idea what I am doing

View attachment 1027038 Here it is friends. We closed on Lucky's new house last night. Can't wait for construction to begin lol. Is it better to place it in the morning sun and shaded late afternoon or all shade if possible? I'm not sure where to put it yet. I have a covered patio but I would prefer Lucky to be in the yard with the grass under his feet
Are you building yourself or ordering it?

Ugh Lucky just had a very soft stool. Only the first two after he was hatched were like that. I hope he is ok? If this continues today what should I do? Or is this anything to worry about?
it is probably fine, it could have drank a lot of water
keep an eye on it, make sure it isnt getting overheated
and watch for GREEN, see the below post for an idea
Wow, wouldn't that be a terrific resource, an encyclopedia of poop. Yeah..... I hope someone runs with this idea.

So, from what I have seen and read, I feel that dark metallic green (not the stuff we see after feeding peas or greens, no, I mean dark and metallic) poop is not a good thing. And sometimes dark, greasy runny poop can mean trouble.

Watery poo may mean they have been drinking alot, but somewhere I read that could be a sign of diarrhea.

I have one runner - I do not know which one - who has always had somewhat runny, dark brown poop. But everyone is healthy, we have had fecal tests done. There are always outliers, in my experience.

I was alarmed the morning I saw their poop color had changed from a tannish brown to almost black. Then I remembered we had our first outdoor day the day before. They had been eating soil.

The fact that they have throughput, in itself, is always a good thing and one of the first things many of us ask when a member worries about their duck's health.

I am thank you. I tried posting a video last night but the site wouldn't allow it. I think it might be the wrong format
you have to upload it to vimeo, youtube, liveleak, facebook, metacafe or dailymotion to then upload it here

I know I'm sorry I am a lot of work lol

No worries yet, you will have the advice you need:D When you are concerned, always observe behavior, eating and drinking for changes. Some variations in poop mean little by themselves. Post a pic if you want, don't be embarrassed there are lots of poop picks on the site;)
OOPS I see you have it already!

I would place the coop in the shade to keep it cool. My ducks don't spend much daylight inside there's tho. They would rather be lounging in sun or splashing in pool. Not sure if a small area could get a bit of evening sun shining into run portion, but that would be ideal. Just don't want heat to build inside coop.

. I have a very similar one for my chickens.... although obviously I prettied it up a bit and made some additions.
