I have no idea what I am doing

I was going to mention being careful about the lake but I didn't wanna give you night mares. I currently have an alligator snapping turtle living in my larger pond we been trying to build on my back lot. We've seen it come up and snatch black birds and pull them under. Can't let the ducks anywhere near there till we figure out how to get rid of the dinosaur. Ugh. Scares me to death !

You could call wildlife rehabilitators to try and move it? And you can't trap or kill them due to the fact they are vulnerable, and even endangered in several states due to, well... Habitat loss, getting caught in roads and wild ones being captured for the exotic pet trade.

It feels bad to me that it has to leave the lake it called home, but it does pose a threat to your pets/livestock.

thinking about the lake...plenty of time for lake time later i agree when Lucky is bigger...something to look forward to for sure...and she (!) is imprinted on you so I would guess even when older she will return...so for example, does she get in and out of her little pool on her own and come to you? You could fashion a little pool ramp and train her to come to you after the swim with a treat. Time to train her to come running to you IMHO...when you hold out the treat decide on a little calling noise (I use chick chick chick for my chickens and they now come running). Actually my chickens are super vocal, we have conversations, and have gotten to the point where several let me pick them up...or let me guide them back in the fence if they escape!

Maybe training time for Lucky? I love how smart my birds are...you may be very surprised!

Or contact local Fish, Wildlife and PArks (state-run)..at least that is what it is called here!
