They'll work it out. Think of her as a home schooled kid that has never been around another kid who just met the class clown. He's not doing anything "wrong" it's just overwhelming her right now. Remember, she's never SEEN another duck and may not even know SHE is a duck.

Just give her lots of individual attention and treats so she doesn't think she's being replaced, and even if he tries to bite her through the fence, she can walk away.

Even hens will peck at their own chicks to teach them manners, he is likely just trying to be the dominate (as a drake he should be) and she's not reading his signals correctly yet.

:hugsI know it makes your heart hurt doesn't it! Your doing a good thing for her! It's just gonna take some time.

grooming time before bed. Looks like things might be improving. They are inches away from each other and no fighting or hissing
 
My 2 drakes bonded fast as well, when I brought them 3 hens a few months ago. The hens were following them around, because they were rather scared of everything, but the drakes were frightened of them and felt threatened. They were snapping at them from thin air for the first week or so, but they bonded quickly. I just closed them up into their house for the night and they were OK the next morning. None of the hens missed a feather and the drakes saw they are friendly. Like I said, the drakes were mean to them for a few more days, but eventually, they let them enter their pond, stopped snapping and in the end, they both started following them if they wandered more than a meter away. They are now one happy flock with two drakes - one of them likes the leading drake more than the hens despite the fact that hens like him more than the alpha drake. :)

They will be inseparable in no-time!
