So I just read everything from the beginning and I laughed and cried and have so much love and appreciation for you both and this site! I have a male and female pair of Swedish ducks that I never meant to keep and fell in love with and ended up landscaping my yard, my house, my life for them and they make me so happy! They are my babies and I worried about every little thing, still do honestly.
My girl is molting, omg, had no idea about that! They also will refuse to eat their crumble food unless I withhold treats, and whatever they eat ends up in the poop in minutes! I had several scary poop moments. They Seem to get stuck in a rut easily, as in they forget about the pond, or the other side of the yard, or that water bowl under the gutter etc. I still baby them a lot and they come in the house all the time and wear diapers. When they were teenagers they went thru an I’m scared of Mom thing, but now they love me.
Whew, sorry to be so long winded.
You guys are doing everything right and you will look back on these days and laugh and cry. So glad I’m not the only one getting up at night to check the duck house temp, and worry about everything!
Ducks have changed me forever and I think everyone should love and be loved by them! Blessings and prayers for both of you!
