many of these birds are molting in the winter...

My new pigeons are molting too for some reason. I wonder if it's a difference in their exposure to light in the new loft.

Most of my chickens molted very gradually with no bare spots. Here's Speckles, first in Oct. and today. The only way I know she must have molted was that her spots changed.

Everything seems to be just perfect right now. She is eating like a truck driver again and we stopped turning lights on in their run after dark and she seems to have just about stopped losing feathers. No egg yet but im happy without that. Flynn is just as sweet as ever and we can't wait for the spring. Here she is striking a pose for us.

Btw, Button just laid her first egg... shell-less and was a strain, but she and I powered through it, poor baby...
