I have no idea what I am doing

We did catch him mating with her once but he is never more than an inch away from her 24/7. Sometimes I can tell the way she is talking that she has had enough of him and seems really annoyed with him at times. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...3A8CAE400EF582242DD13A8CAE4&FORM=VIRE&PC=APPL Here is the link I saw and that is exactly what lucky has been doing but no egg yet. Any idea what to look for as an indication that she is having trouble? I understand she may just be practicing because she is close but if there is a problem I'd like to catch it before it's too late.
After viewing the video it seems to me that the scratching with her feet while pivoting in a circle is more nest arranging than laying. Just before she produces the egg she remains in one spot.

My vet friend from Cornell Duck Lab said this is brooding behavior and as long as she is eating and drinking not to worry. Anyone have any idea how long this might go on before we see an egg? I should have asked him but I hate to bother him. So far it's four days of this kind of behavior.

Ok so forget that question. Look what I just found. Lucky's first egg.

Lucky has been sitting on her nest for the last two hours. I was hoping she was just going to lay another egg and leave. Now I feel horrible removing the egg later. Will this bother her? Will she continue to sit if there are no eggs in the nest? How should I handle this? We are not looking for any more ducks but I certainly want to do what is best for her so the best way to deal with the eggs would be appreciated. Thanks

Where is Flynn?:D

Ducksperts, feel free to correct me if I am wrong, :old
But I think if it were me I would just go ahead and take her eggs immediately whenever you see them if you don't want her to hatch them. In my opinion it would be easier on her to learn from the start that she lays an egg.. .and daddy takes it. Ok this is just how it is got cha. .
I think if she is allowed to stock pile her eggs the broody ness will take a stronger hold.
