Yes I live on Long Islandyou got the latest noreaster i guess.
We will be eating them. I agree that she went through so much trouble to make them. I hope you are right about her only laying a few times a year. I get so worried as you all know lol. she had already given us 9 eggs. I hope it's almost over and she takes a nice long break.I felt the same way! I think because my ducks are pets, it felt weird eating Quackers egg. But...she went to so much trouble for it, and besides, in my excitement over her first egg, I dropped it, it cracked, and I had to eat it lol
Now Quackers and Cheese are domestic ducks so Quackers will lay an egg everyday. She just makes a nest, lays it, and walks away. I think your baby is wild bred so she will only lay a few times a year and might want to brood them. I’ve heard you can hard boil the eggs and give them back, or give her a fake egg to sit on..seems like a dirty trick tho. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Literally just got home from 11 days away from the babies for the first time. I cried all the way to the airport but they were on good hands with their aunt. Mike and I went on a Caribbean cruise and had an amazing time. Lucky and Flynn will soon have legit parents and Mike and I got engaged while we were away. Need a few days to unwind and get back to normal and spend some much needed time with the ducks we missed terribly. I'll post some pics in the next couple of days. Both lucky and Flynn are doing great and lucky continues to lay one egg a day. She just doesn't take a break lolHey guys! Whasssup?
We are overdue for a lucky and Flynn update. I Hope everyone is splendid.![]()
