my hip, and now my knee is starting to hurt on my left side. i have not done any physical activity in the past week or so. it hurts to step any way but forward, and if i step forward i have to put my weight down perfectly, or it still hurts. this is bs. i am falling apart, and i am only 22!!! argh.

well thats stupid, i at least thought i had until like 35 or so before i would start to deteriorate! my dh is 26 and he is perfectly healthy. he thinks i've got bad genes, he says he hope the kid gets his genes, so he wont be all achy and sick all the time. i think he thinks i am a hypochondriac (sp?), but the dr.s dont. whatever. i am just gonna take one of my "good" pain pills when i get home, and wish it away.

I am well just say I am much older than you. I did fine until I hit 50's. Fibromyalgia. One big hurt hit and I have had to deal with it ever since. It will show up as pain here and there. Then in a week or two it will move. That part won't hurt and then another area will.
See a rohmatologist (my spelling is terrible tonight) if it keeps up. They can tell you if its arthritis or another problem. Blood work usually.
A warm tub bath helps some. Also a very good nights sleep.
If you have it you can still live a good life if you keep going. Those pain pills will only work for awhile. You learn to cope with it. jean

It sounds like you did something to hurt your hip and then started compensating by changing your stride to protect the injury. This affected your knee so both are sore now. Just rest your hip by perhaps getting a cane or even crutches. You need to stay off it for a while otherwise both your knee and hip will take longer to heal.

Yeah it stinks when your body betrays you. While I'm still 25 on the inside, the outside is a decade and a half older. Sadly my body keeps reminding me that age is NOT relative it's cumulative.
Sigh.

yep, welcome to old age.

when i turned 21, my mom invited my DH (then my fiancee) over to watch my butt start sagging. it's all down hill after 20!

feel better!

I hurt since I delivered my daughter four years ago........been too many times for pain management, PT and my own family doc does not believe in fibromyglia (sp) STILL!

Most doctors that specializes in fibromy. would not take me in due to Medicare AND not have a doctor's referral. I got a mind to go in as self referral instead of fighting my doctor to send me to someone that does understand and KNOWS about this disease. My mother has it.

I k now it would be expensive tho!

, I am only 26. My hairdresser told me it was totally normal but I was completely freaked out.
I have the same problem, often I will have this horrible pain in the top of my thigh when I walk. I think the best advice is to stay in shape. We should all exercise, even if it is just taking a walk, every day. I shouldn't be talking, I don't of course. But my dad is 86 years old, still works and is capable of everything a young person can do. He exercises every day and has every day of his life. He tells me at the very lest you should stretch every morning. Maybe try yoga, it is less strenuous than any other exercise.
