i have no idea what i did, but it HURTS!

The doctors don't think you aren't sick because you are making their mortgage payments or if you're insured, your insurance is making their mortgage payments.

I agree with the person with the dad in the 80's who said the least we should all do is stretch each day. Maybe if we all got into that habit we all may walk just a little further each day and just gradually build up. I think low impact exercising is where we all need to be. When any of you figure out how to get there please peep up and let us know how you found it.

(I swear I just sit and watch my chicks too much! This is some kind of addiction!)

* You may not have done anything but moved into a tweaked position while you slept!! Crossed your knees wrong, slept on the wrong side, on your stomach, whatever. Happens to me all the time.

My mom and I both have fibromyalgia, too. Find a good rhuematologist that specializes in fibro. I took my mom to one and at least now she can get the best meds for her condition and knowing what she has makes it easier to deal with it. I often feel "fluish" and then realize that it's just the fibro flared up and I need to rest. A good nap helps a ton along with a heating pad where it hurts most that day. Once you figure it out, you can alter your lifestyle a bit and control it most of the time. I had to give up all artificial sweetners and stay moderately active all the time. If I overdo, I need to rest for a while and tolerate the sick feeling. Good luck finding someone to help. Don't quit. BTW, I am a physical therapist and have diagnosed this in a few patients as well whose doctors either overlooked it or wouldn't see it.

Is the pain in your true hip or more in your butt? (Your hip in actually in the front of the pelvis. If the pain is in your butt, could be SI (sacroiliac) joint out of alignment and a physical therapist or chiropractor could easily fix it. If it's on the side, could be bursitis and a PT could treat that, too. If it's in the front closer to the groin, get an xray. It would be something in the hip joint and something needs to be diagnosed. Hope this helps. I'm a PT, but obviously can't tell you what to do without seeing you. Just thought I'd try to point you in the right direction. Be careful of the pain pills. I have many patients who have gotten so accustomed to them that when they really need one for a surgery or something, they don't work any more.

Hope you feel better soon!

* You mentioned a kid, if you are pregnant, the munchkin weight could be putting pressure on places where you didn't know you had problems before. I had sciatica so bad with my 1st I used to lay across the bed and sob. A friend took me to a great chiropractor and he got rid of the worst of the pain with the first adjustment!!

My DH just hurt himself stretching before a basket ball game. Now he is home crying and moaning and has to have his meals served bedside.Geez he strained his lower back. I hd to run around without meds on a strained foot and last month a three week long headace due to i guess a pinched nerve or so. Men can be such babies.

I take Celebrex for my knee pain and it does a fair job.

Just keeping the weight off can reduce ALOT of the problems we have.....

I now say i'm no spring chicken.. more like a fall broiler

I'm 33 and have had fibromyalgia for 10 years. Had 2 pregnancies and breastfed each child for 13mos. No meds for 4 years.....whew. Makes me hurt just thinkin about it!

Aches and pains are just normal for me and I have learned to live with it. I'm on cymbalta now and the pain is much better. I still have pain daily but it is tolerable...I have 8 chickens, 3 rabbits, 3 labs (with puppies due in November) 2 cats, 2 frogs, a hamster, 2 beautiful and energetic children, and a smokin hot hubby to take care of everyday....pain is the LEAST of my worries!

Warm baths, heating pads, hot tea, and a massage are my coping mechanisms. Some days I just have to make myself lay on the couch and let everything go. That was the hardest thing to deal with...giving myself permission to feel bad and do something about it....take time for myself, ya know?
