I never said it would save me money. Matter of fact, I said "I'd have to invest a few more hundred" meaning.... If I'm spending that much on chickens, I'm going to spare them the postal service and I'm going to check the place out so I'm not getting sickly chickens or horrible quality specimens.
Lol, sorry....happens to me all the time....dh has talked about importing but no vacation to go with.... you could probably avoid the trip(unless looking for vacation excuse) by contacting many members of the breed club. You also have to remember you are hiring the vet for the inspection so if you get a reputable person I'm sure they would tell you the conditions they live in.
