I have this bantam rooster with five toes

I've never had a rooster before, and "Mr. Featherly" is still adolescent, but his feathers are all white and curly and he's got five toes on each foot. I have another bantam hen that's gold and black with only four toes, is the five toes a rooster thing?

Hens can have 5 toes as well. Mr. Featherly probably has a silkie or some other 5 toed breed somewhere down his family line.
Do you know his genetic background?
