All of a sudden a presentation on showing chickens for 4-H has been sprung onto me. What should I talk about? I apologize if this is the wrong area to put this as I had no idea where to put something like this.

thank you so much!!! Every word you typed has been noted!I would start by reading the rules for showing in your area so that you can give a summary and direct people to where they can find those rules.
Talk about judging criteria for poultry and where people can get more info.
Talk about how to prepare and groom your show bird and what kind of cage is required. Discuss the conditions at the show and whether you need to stay with your bird all the time. Describe the food and water situation for your bird at the show.
Explain how you actually show your bird to the judges and what you are expected to do and what they will do.
Describe the prizes and how and when they are awarded.
Throw in any tips that may make it easier to show birds or make the show easier for the humans.
This is not necessarily in the best order, but this may give you a start, since you have a short time to get the presentation ready.
Good luck!
You are welcome. I know almost nothing about showing poultry except what I remember from a 4-H presentation a few years ago. But the topics I suggested are what I would want to know about if I were going to show my ducks. Sometimes a quick outline is what it takes to get you started when you are confronted with the need to pull something together fast. It will be your knowledge and experience that will turn an outline into a helpful presentation. I wish I could be in the meeting to learn from you!Thank

If you do write up your presentation, consider posting it here so that we can all learn something new.
