I have to talk POLISH!

My daughter won reserve AOCCL AND Best Junior Polish (by the polish club) at the APA show in Smithfield NC this weekend. She won with her bantam WC Cuckoo cockerel, Charlotte. Such a sweet chicken!

What do you experts think about this Polish? Is she any quality? I bought her from my friend (she was part of an Ideal Hatchery Polish assortment) as a chick. I'm not sure what color she is. She is either white with a lot of stray black, or a messed up Black Crested White. Is her crest too small? Also, should she have a comb? Because she doesn't.The black feathers go down her neck, there is one or two in the crest, and a tiny one in the wing. I was told her type was good. What do you all think? Is she SQ (or at least 4-H quality), and what color is she supposed to be? Please give your honest opinion.

(sorry about her dirty crest. She is clean everywhere else.)

Here she is sunbathing for fun.
I wish I had better pics, but she seems to only want to show me her butt... Or her sunbathing technique. There is a lot of black on the back of her neck, but the pics don't show it (kind of in the first).

(a younger pic of her) Also, is this normal? Notice how her beak hangs open at the tip? She still does that. When I pick her up, I can close it with my hands easily, but she always leaves it open a bit. Why would she do this? Can I fix it?

She looks just like my Lola, and Lola's mom was a buff laced and dad was a white crested black. About her beak, if she's not stressed and not needing additional air, I would think it's a genetic thing.

There was a post earlier on a polish bought and it looked golden. I was on the heritage and rare breed forum and someone posted the list of ASOP chickens and when they where excepted..there is listed there a Golden Polish that is beardless...accepted in 1984. Here is the link of the page the post was one...very interesting.

Just a little story to share-- I have a cuckoo pullet that was shipped from several states away and was delivered on 11/16 (almost 30 days ago). She is a beautiful WC cuckoo. Well, she didn't eat ANYTHING the first 6 days. We wormed her, checked her for lice and mites several times (she was clean), and began force feeding her. Gave her yogurt, cottage cheese and apple cider vinegar in her water, too. I even gave her daily vestibular treatments in case she had vertigo from the long shipping. Well, FINALLY yesterday and today she started eating on her own. Don't know which intervention helped the most, but just yesterday I started mentioning we may have to look into ringing her anorexic neck. Iguess
