I have to talk POLISH!

THE MAGIC HAS BEGUN!

I just set 3 polish eggs under marshie! (at 6:30 PM) she is now the happiest camper alive. smile.png I couldn't resist....LOL.

I called my breeder and asked for ameraucana, polish or australorps, but he only had 3 polish...all others were bought that day.

SO I paid $4.50 for 3 eggs.....it will be well worth it, and hopefully I will end up with cool crossed colors, no frizzles, and NO MIXED BREEDS. (its happened twice...trust me. LOL)

NOW 21 DAYS OF WAITING! due to hatch on the 29th.

these will be my first polish! im so excited!

Aw, I wish I could find some polish eggs for that cheap... where is she located?

he is 6 minutes down the street from me. I have gotten all my birds from him, and have been very pleased with most of their outcomes. of 15 birds I have gotten from him, I have only had one wing problem, and one crossed beak, and that was about it.

like I said, even though he has pet quality birds, I still don't think he knows too much of what is going on in his pens. he has cochin roos with ameraucanas and RIRs, silkies and Japanese bantams together.....some pens are chaos.....I relly don't know what birds he has in his polish pen which relly upsets me. I think he may have some frizzled polish.....im just hoping I DONT GET SOME JACKED UP POLISH CROSS from these 3 eggs. im counting on these eggs! hahah

he is a home based business, like I said, pet quality, and all the birds lay EXTREEMELY well! his Japanese bantams, said to lay 1 egg a week, lay every day. I am pleased. sadly since he is a home based business, he does not ship anything out....so its all locals who buy his birds or outsiders who come to NC and find him.

here are some polish pictures I found on his website......from these I don't relly see any other birds other than polish here:

700

Do you find these to be pretty good quality birds?
like enough to throw them into my state fair and see what they get?

I have noticed he has 4 different colors of polish all in the same pens......buff laced, gold laced, silver laced, and top hat......im just hoping I get a pure colored bird....but what's the chance of that? probably slim.

if he has all these colors together.....what possibilities of color do you think I have that you can get by breeding these colors....will they be all mixed?

I love the polish breed, i have so many polish eggs, and i know i'll come out with some different colors for sure since my only polish rooster is a Silver lace, got a silver lace hen, buff, gold, splash and the black/white's.. but i love them there fun to have around and interesting to watch, maybe i should start selling some eggs then instead of me trying to hatch them... i think i just may do that..

Einstein is a month old now.Her crest is getting sillier by the day! lol
Einstein may be a girl. I would look for saddle feathers. At this age, roosters will start getting shinny saddle feathers mid back. Spread the top feathers and look for new feathers emerging. If you don't see bright shiny feathers coming in, I'd start thinking of a more feminine name. : )

Aww, all the little guys are so cute. My polish flock is mostly gold laced with a few different ones. My favorite is a young blue polish frizzle that for obvious reasons I call Blue.
On another note, has anyone else thought about polish bonnets while a Polish's crest is regrowing? I know they are more likely to get pecked at when its already half bald and I don't want to have to isolate one for that long. Think it would work?

Oh how I love this girl! Her name will probably remain Einstein. She gives me a giggle everyday just looking at her. Her crest exploded the last 2 days!
It's amazing how much they change in 1 month !
