Just candled my Houdans last night, 7 live out of 8 eggs, look real good. I think it's day 12.
I like this breeder who sold me the eggs. Nice shells, no thin spots. Babies are all a good size and similar, and very active. Sometimes, you all know, that you get hatching eggs that "look" and "feel" like poor quality. Another thing I've noticed is that healthy hatching eggs are heavier.

I just found an egg first one for the year

What do you think is it from my Sl polish or my Oegb? It has been soo long since my Oegb has layed one i don't rember how big they were this one is kind of a cream color i can't rember if the Oegb eggs were this color or a little darker brown.




If it is the polish then it will be her very first egg!!!!

That eggs looks to be a good size. Do OEGB lay that large of an egg?

I was surprised how large it was for a first egg

Hi...actually it's the same rooster in all three pictures. I had him since he was 4 weeks old. I don't have a hen, I wish I did but haven't had any luck finding one.

Well, you either need an incubator, or you can order a bunch of Polish chicks from a hatchery!
