TexasChick, what do you feed your chickens? We can ONLY find Purina Layer and other Purina products? We were looking for some variety and have not found anything at all.

I like Purina for my chick starter. I use King feed for my layers and grow outs.

Here is an updated photo of my Crazy looking Polish chicks. They are 1 month old today & tomorrow. Any guesses on Gender? I know its really early, but so far everyone is turning into roos and Im starting to get a lil dissapointed!

Red crested red polish hen. Bought her from a friends dad who got her in an polish assortment from ideal hatchery.​

First is a new pic of my frizzle white crested blue bantam chick
Second is a pic of my buff laced polish hen
Third is a pic of a pullet that is a cross of two polish color varieties(buff laced polish rooster X red crested red polish hen)
Fourth pic is a young rooster from the same cross as the chick in the third pic​

Great pics! I have one the same color. My input would be to soon look for little red wattles under the chin---first sign of a boy on the ones I have seen. Probably a couple more weeks. Also the one with the longest fluffs looks girlie to me.

Hi All

I have a Silver Laced Black polish girl, nothing special, who is almost 2 years old and molting. The strange thing is that all her new feathers are coming in completely white. Its as if she has lost her black pigment on her new feathers.

Has anyone ever heard of this? I am trying to find an old photo of her so you can see how much she has changed. She now almost looks like an angel she is so white.

She is healthy otherwise, laying eggs, etc.

I will post the before and after photos soon, but it would be interesting to know why she is doing this.
