Here's the update...
Apparently chickens can enjoy baths because he was drowsing in it as I washed him with lavender baby wash and a splash of vinegar in hot soapy...

Note all the 'crud' on my hand and the color of the water. I had to change part way because I wasn't able to rinse effectively anymore.

Now he started shivering so I squeezed water out with a towel and blow dried. I could see dead lice vibrating out as I dried.
Can't forget underneath! Such an accommodating chicken.

Sorry I couldn't rotate the photo. I've been holding him a while to help him stay warm. I'm reluctant to put him out again as the night are getting cold. Meanwhile, I put a drop of Hartz flea/tick on his head, above his vent and under each wing. Its mild enough for puppies and frankly doesn't work that great on the dog. My son was charged with clearing all the bedding and laying DE and new bedding. If nothing else he is cleaner!
