I have two chickens that eat the eggs

Nearly every day when I collect the eggs there is one that has been eaten with the shell crushed and one that has be eaten with a hole poked into the egg and the the yolk and white drawn out. I have 23 hens and I get about ten eggs a day. The bread is Americana. I have put a bowl with oyster shells which the chickens eat. What causes the hens to eat their own eggs?

Are you sure your hens are eating them? I had this issue last year and it turned out it was actually magpies.

Are you egg shells week or thin? Do you collect them regularly? Is there plenty of soft nesting material in the nest boxes? Is there a chance your hens could be bored or over crowded? Do they have free access to food? What are you feeding them?

I am having the same issue! If they lay on the ground, my hens will eat the egg! What do i do?? I want the eggs!!
