I have unknown chicken breeds

Thank you. Cause in person they look like 2 totally dif hens. The one you said looks like jg is heavier bigger fluffier. Than the one with the bright red face.

That's not always true. My BA has brown eyes, and she's definitely not a JG.

That's not always true. My BA has brown eyes, and she's definitely not a JG.

thats weird.. i was always told only JG have brown eyes. even our poultry judge at the poultry shows said so.

That's for SQ birds. HQ birds do not always follow the guidelines. Like if you were to compare a HQ Barred Rock to the ones here, you'd immediately see the difference. That goes for pretty much every breed.

What are you feeding them?

They should be eating chicken food, not just cracked corn, or whatever scraps you can find. I'm just wondering, because your chickens seem to be growing much too slowly.
 
My JG has been on medicated chick feed since i got her, just recently she was switched to lay mash. she gets fresh veggies and a handfull of scratch everyday. and she always has her automatic feeder full. so she can eat all the time.
 
Barnyard mix. The guys at the feed store never know what they're talking about when it comes to breeds. One should find a breeder if a specific pure bred chicken is desired. Otherwise you are probably looking at some mixed breeds.
