I have wood!

It'll be a while, I'm hoping late October, and I have five girls. I'm thinking about $20 including shipping for 12+ (with an attempt to get at least 15,) but it could be into November before I'm getting enough to collect all of those in a few days' time. If you like, I can make a note to contact you when I finally get there and see if you still need them. I also have EE, and several brown egg layers (all of them mutts) if you would be interested in a few extra of those for a little more.

OK, Keep me in mind. I have some brown egg layers. I have this wish list with my daughter. Our list for next spring is Buff Orps, Black Austrolorps and Barred Rocks. We also want some ducks and geese. We had really bad luck this year with our water fowl. My son wants some turkeys too but we'll see. I know he won't want to eat them and they get too mean to keep around as pets.

1 payed 1.99 per 2x4. We checked out their cull wood, it was very scarce. I am going to buy some of the cull panels for fixing up the "rooster porch."

What exactly is ''cull wood"? If I want to buy it is it something I have to ask for? Or just something they have on the floor in stock?

It's just wood in odd sizes or that has defects (like on some paneling I would use for a roof was kinda scratched up on one side) that they cant sell for regular price. My homedepot has just like a cartfull in one of the lumber aisles

When I saw the title of the thread I was hesitant to open it.. I was expecting Bob Dole or some guys sitting around playing guitars.

Today at Home Depot

2x4x8 Green Douglas Fir - $1.89 per.

Three recommendations -

Craigslist - Look in your area for "Free Stuff" and materials for sale. I just scored two perfectly good 26 x 54 windows and a 30" steel entry door for the grand total of $25.

Dumpster Diving - I kid you not! Especially in my area, guys building houses throw away perfectly good wood. You'd be amazed at the access I get to their "scrap pile" when you show up toward the end of the day holding a 12-pack of something cold.

John Deere and other equipment dealers get their machinery delivered on some very nice pallets. My local guys throw them all away. Good wood and free for the askin'
