"I haven't read all the other posts but..."

I was raised to respect others. That would certainly preclude posting in someone's thread without having all the information. If it's a very long thread and I have no time to read it, I won't post.
Wouldn't want to hijack someone's thread by turning it into a playground either.

And that right there is my point entirely. It's impossible to make an informed contribution if you're not fully informed! Equally as aggravating is those that post, go back and actually read, then edit by adding the opposite of what they just wrote (but leaving their original post also).

I suppose I wasn't raised right or again, just don't have the time.

I do admit that I try to read through all of the posts before responding, but if the thread stays on topic to begin with, it wouldn't make a difference.

I'm not talking about simple factual questions (e.g. How long should I incubate chickens eggs for?).

Oh! So it's the random ramblings ones that get you then!

I suppose I am free there for the most part, although I did respond to this one.

The thread that I believe PaulaJoAnne is referring to was a particularly bad example. It did stay on topic, but many posters were not reading the OP's updates and in some cases their advice could have affected her wellbeing if heeded.

No. It's more complex issues that have more to do with opinion or advice than simple fact.
