"I haven't read all the other posts but..."

I think I know that thread well, because I read it all. It was frustrating that the situation had changed drastically yet people were still posting in response to the first post. It involved a very serious family situation.

If it's lighthearted in spirit, or even how to hatch my egg, that's one thing. But the more serious ones do deserve some respect.

I will agree with you there. Sometimes it seems that situations that are important are taken to lightheartedly and people's feelings end up hurt or bad advice is given.

Now I think I'm following you guys.

OOh never mind... i think i know what you are talking about now... thanks

I'd guess my only interest is in why anyone would feel it necessary to make that statement.

It is either a preemptive apology (yes, I was off-base, but I said I didn't read them!), or maybe a bit of low-grade arrogance/indifference to other members who spent time posting (might not be what is meant, but human nature being what it is... watch out for perception where all we have to go by is the text).

Why not default to something like (`in a rush, slow to load, if I'm repeating/irrelevant, hang me out to dry'). Better yet, they could quote specific member's comment they are responding to, or simply not post.

Now, don't get me started on Emergencies subject line and the lack of basic information (read the STICKY) - often- that would leave Sherlock Holmes reaching for another fix, e.g., Q: `I sat on my chicken, what do I do?' A: `Stand up and get off your chicken?????

ok... so I am the guilty one here who posted those exact words in that thread that everyone is talking about. Please accept my apologies.
