I came in this morning to do one last turn before lockdown and when I turned the egg I heard Chirping!!! I immediatley put it down and filled up the wells and added some more cups to get the humidity up as it only read 72% one one digital and 68% on the other. Im hoping this wont over do it and or will be enough. Maybe I'll have a chickie when I get home<should be around 5 pm central> I'll keep you posted!! Im sooooooooo excited!!<I would do smileys but not sure how to add them on the post> <jumping up and down>

That is fantastic!!

On smilies, just click on what you want in the smilie bar above and it will add automatically. Be sure to space over one time between smies and or anything else including periods.

Very exciting! Chirping already at lockdown, wow! I don't hear chirping until the day before hatch day most of the time. I have eggs I want to put under my broody, but I will miss hearing them chirp and watching them hatch!

Lets hope for the best!

As it only read 72%??? That is already high enough... you dont want the humidity too high..... I incubated at 30% humidity and on lockdown only bumped it up to 65%... all mine hatched at 65% but I have heard some problems can come if you have it TOO high.... what did it get to after you jacked it up?

I have a chickie!!! I have a chickie!!! Whoohooo!!

:When I added more water, one therm/hygro reads 80%, the other reads 63% which is the therm a little lower than the other. I took the extra butter dish lids out when I got home because the chickie wanted to lay in them and I dont want her<hoping its a her> to drown.

They are both yellow, so the pics I posted of the first chick is the same the other chick looks. It will be interesting to see how they feather out being Buff Orpington/White Leghorn crosses.
