Should be ok, mine had benefit of a crazy broody that hatched out late November so their first month of life they were in the negatives without an insulated coup momma had em integrated by a month old, just well ventilated with straw in the bottom. Would give a lone chick a snuggle buddy though and watch to see how she's doing for first bit, then mother nature starts to kick in when they aren't being babied.Question unrelated to egg laying....I rescued a chick (6 weeks old) and I would like to put her out with my adult hens (in her own cage until she's old enough to defend herself) but my question is can a six week old chick stay outside in an insulated coop when the nights are getting down to 45 degrees?
