I got this one, it runs on a sprocket (?) mechanism. I had mine for a year before I had to find homes for my hens (poopy neighbor kids) but I kept the Door because I KNEW one day I will get more chickens
I have the light sensor and the door itself is installed INSIDE the coop. I occasionally would wipe it down from dust but none got inside where the battery and mechanics were.
Also note that when inside the coop there could be shavings or stuff that gets on the bottom of the door. I had a cinder block high 'step' to get out of the coop just for this reason .
One of the best things I ever bought for the hens..... along with the PVC feeder and heated dog waterbowl
