I just beat down a cat :o

First off..how do you know the cat was a 'drop off'? It could have been the neighbors up the road or something.

I second that!! Im thinking the cat was stuck or something. If it were truly a stray, and not a pet, it would have ran away. Not just sit there and let you sneak up on it and hit it.

I get that response from my sister a lot...

Oh well. If you had a cat translator, you would change your mind. My former cat, she seemed nice enough, even tolerating my sister constantly picking her up. But all you needed to do to see her evil was to watch her kill a mouse. And I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she was secretly running the government in an attempt to conquer the world.

My cats are deathly afraid of my hens and the occaisional one that dares to have a stare down match with one of my chickens always backs down first. Nothing to walk out and see one of the cats rounding the side of the house at warp speed with an angry hen in pursuit!

Wow... your post almost makes me want a new cat. Our dog is a pain when it comes to our RIR chicks. She'll sit there and stare, and occasionaly make pathetic attempts to dig under our chicken tractor. Just a minute ago, she rammed her head into the wire on the run. It held up this time. Last time she pulled a stunt like that, she killed all four chicks. And after we got new ones, she found herself chained at night.

A cat would be a lot easier... but still, they are EVIL. I'm estimating that when our dog got our chicks, the whole killing took roughly 3 seconds. A cat would drag it out, tormenting its helpless prey. It's sick. I saw a couple of cats playing with a mouse. They kept hitting it onto the driveway and just watching it. I would have loved to have a rooster right then...
