I'm Cindy and live in Redhill, so not far from you! I've had chickens for a year and love it. I have 3 bantams at the moment who have just started laying! This is highly addictive and if i had a bigger garden i'd have more! What are you planning to get, and how many?

Hello Cindy from Redhill UK !!
Can you understand a word these america's say hun ? LOL
Redhill ? lets be honest its no Luton is it. Have you ever been LOL
Well Cindy if you have 3 birds i'm just going to have to get 4 & they will be big ones. Eggs the size of oranges.
My Nans had chickens when i was a lad, i loved going to see them. I was out in the garden all afternoon.
They let them come run all over garden & even go in the kitchen, great fun. I miss my nans & the great times i had there.
Always promisted i would have them one day but starting a family of my own always seemed to get in the way.
I hit 54 this spring If i dont do it now i never will.
So i'm building a small run & buying 4 birds, all different colours I think.

Do you get any foxes coming round hun ?
I understand what you guys are saying. But then again my Aunt was born and raised in York. I remember her first trip to the grocery store (market) and looking for mince meat. All she found was a canned meat that we call mince meat. Over here mince meat is hamburger. Poor lady was so frustrated by the time she was done shopping.

Hi
No i've never been to luton! I've never had chickens before so all has been a learning curve. We were visited by a fox once! The noise of the quails woke us, and at 3 in the morning i sent the dog out and the fox never came back! My neighbours must love us! LOL. I only have a small garden so opted for bantams, i had four but lost one recently. I went for breeds that all laid a different coloured egg as that tickled me! I had always wanted chickens and when we got our own place i didn't let a small garden get in the way! Lol Here is our coup this winter:
