i just bought another chicken.how hi can he fly?

hello this time i got a 5 month old rooster.the problem is he walks around everwere.... other people yards... i just bought a 2000 chevy s10 truck.can he fly hi enought to get on top of it? i just dont wont him scrathing it all up.also ive seen pictures of chicken with wire tyed around there leg.can i keep him on a leash so he can only go so far?

Do you not have a fenced in area he can stay in? The wire idea doesn't sound too good to me BUT if you want to keep him from flying up high, you will have to clip ONE wing. Clipping one keeps him off balance so he can't fly. I'll see if I can find a link to directions for you. Here ya go:

thanks.yea i have a big dog pin.about 30 feet long.i think im going to but a gate in the middle so half of it well be for the chickens.its about 6 feet tall.
